The decision has been made to close down the Frightscripts project. We are working to return all art, accepted stories and answer all submissions and quearies. We apologize for the short notice and the trouble you have all gone to in the hopes of making this project a success.

Molly will be MIA until January 15th. We have some equipment updates taking place that are going to have the internet down until that date. We hope to be starting the editing phase for Dark Distortions II in February. Updates as we know more.

Dark Distortions II is still very far behind and still moving forward. We have not yet moved into the editing phase, but we are getting closer each day. I apologize to everyone for the extensive delays and warn you that the process will continue to move slowly in the foreseeable future. The good news is the choice to move slower, means the quality will not be compromised!

 Dark Distortions I is now listed in the reader's poll at Predator's and Editor's. The poll is open from Jan. 1st - Jan 14th. Please stop by and give us a nod. Preditors and Editors

I have been very remiss in keeping the information posted in a timely manner and my new year's resolution is to do better. I appreciate everyone's patience and support!!

First let me apologize for not getting this out there as soon as possible. It's been around for two or more months, but I've been so busy working on DD2 and FrightScripts, it's crazy. Anyhow, for those who don't know, or are interested in taking a look, The Fix (http://thefix-online.com) has reviewed Dark Distortion I and most of it's very positive.

The March 20th release date has arrived. Orders will be shipped within a week of when they are received.

You can still request a copy signed by the editors.

And we finally kept a deadline! The pre-orders have all been shipped.

The books have been shipped to us, so we're now in the process of sending out the author's copies and any extra orders from the authors. So, you should be receiving them within the next few weeks. We plan to have them all out by March 20th, which is also our release date.

We are getting many many submissions for DD2, so bare with us. We're dividing our time between marketing DD1 and reading for DD2 and FrightScripts, which means that our time is very limited and it has slowed up response times to these submissions. It may take up to 60 days before you might here from us, especially if we're planning on sending you a email of interest in the work.

Good news! The DD1 books are being printed as we speak and will begin shipping early next week. As soon as they arrive, we'll be sending them out to our authors and to reviewers.

Okay, so we're off. March 20th, 2008 is still the date for release of DD1. Nothing has changed there. Dark Distortions, volume 2, is already getting submissions in and we're starting to get around to those now. We feel at full steam now.

I'd also like to bring up that CD is still looking for four more authors to fit into the new Frightscripts anthology book. If you have a novella - and you think it's really scary - and you're interested in trying to  get in, send your submissions now, folks! One has already got in and there are only four more spots to go! Just remember, Frightscripts are for pure HORROR stories. If it's not disturbing, we won't want it.

To help you out a little bit CD decided to add more to what he's looking for. "I don't care if the horror is erotic, comic, or whatever, but I do want it scary and I do want it to disturb me on some level. I'd also rather have supernatural horror elements to it. Monsters, ghosts, witches or altogether made up, it doesn't matter. If your novella can do all that, then I'll be very happy with what you send me."

HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYBODY!!!

Here's your Christmas present from Scotopia Press: Pre-ordering is now live! That's right, just when you were beginning to believe that we wouldn't make it, Dark Distortions is open for pre-orders to be shipped on our release date.

You want even better news, too? Okay... we have a release/shipping date! Pre-orders are shipped March 20th, 2008. That's also the date at which we will be shipping free copies to the authors.

Distribution

For now, all I can say is that we will be selling the book at our bookstore here at scotopiapress.com, but we're not sure how long it will take to get it into your local bookstores as of yet (if this is even possible this soon).  We're working with retailers to get it into bookstores, but that might not happen by are release date. However, Molly and I are working hard to get that done. I promise. We're also still looking at Amazon.com and ABE Books as other outlets as far as online distribution goes.
